The Trial is an amazing story told through the unique perspective of Katie Leigh Flynn.  Your fiction readers will love this book because it reads like a fiction story and you are easily able to connect with the characters.  Your non-fiction readers will enjoy discovering all the facts as the story unfolds.  This book has many practical applications for the upper elementary and middle school classrooms.  This book would be an excellent tool for teaching history and poetry and the reading/writing connection.  For many students, poetry is not their favorite genre.  This book is able to hook both male and female readers, providing a gateway to discovering the different types of poetry beyond the standard poetry lessons.  Jen Bryant does an outstanding job of telling the riveting story of the Lindbergh tragedy through carefully selected words that flow so easily and are never forced, proving that she is a master of her craft.  I have just started reading Ringside 1925 and already I am hooked!
